Once upon a time
I desperately wanted a child. I thought
about it all the time. I day dreamed about
how awesome it would be to have a baby.
I fantasized about what a great mom I would be. When we found out we were going to have a
baby we were ecstatic. It was so fun to dream and plan for our first little
bundle of boy to come along. Did I
mention I wanted to have eleven boys?
First scream: Much
to my surprise, we in fact had a girl.
I’m sorry to say I was disappointed.
My dream of 11 boys was shot. I
couldn’t imagine having twelve kids; that would just be too many.
This was the
first moment I started to think of having a girl. I was determined that she would be a
tomboy. Her room was decorated in
turquoise blue and we didn’t buy any pink clothes. Alas, she was a first baby and at the many
baby showers she got lots of pink anyway.
First hug: Oh –
livia, what a gorgeous girl. As hard as I tried there was no way to make you a
tomboy. You are pink to the core.
